## Tea grades

- PD (Pekoe Dust) — Dust grade. Premium dust grade from CTC manufacture with dense, even particles that brew a strong, thick, bright liquor quickly. Popular for packet tea, tea bags and chai.
- Dust — Fine dust grade. Finest, densest CTC particles for quick, strong infusion — preferred for tea bags and fast-brewing chai.
- BOP (Broken Orange Pekoe) — Broken grade. Well-broken CTC leaf grade with good body, colour and appearance, widely used in blended packet teas.
- BOPSM (Broken Orange Pekoe Small/Medium) — Broken grade. Finer broken grade than BOP with quick infusion and consistent cup strength.
- BP (Broken Pekoe) — Broken grade. Coarser broken CTC grade with good leaf content and a balance of strength and appearance.
- Tea waste — By-product. Fannings and processing waste supplied in bulk for instant tea, extracts and industrial use.

## How the tea is made

Fresh Assam tea leaf is sourced, withered on troughs, processed by CTC (Crush, Tear, Curl), fermented and dried, then sorted into grades and packed for bulk dispatch at the Jorhat factory.
