From leaf to grade
Leaf to dispatch, in four steps.
CTC stands for Crush, Tear, Curl — the processing method used across Assam to turn fresh leaf into the strong, brisk-liquoring tea the region is known for.
Leaf sourcing
Fresh Assam tea leaf is sourced and brought in for processing at the factory.
Withering
Leaves are spread and withered to reduce moisture and prepare them for processing.
CTC processing
The withered leaf is crushed, torn and curled, then fermented and dried to develop colour and strength.
Grading & dispatch
Processed tea is sorted into grades and packed for bulk dispatch.
